Appraisal Services - Austin Area

If you are local to the Austin, Texas area, we offer jewelry appraisal services for insurance and estate purposes.
Alexandra de Marigny is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and has completed the Core Course in Appraisal Studies with the International Society of Appraisers.

Includes appraisal report based on type of appraisal requested, weights and measures, color/clarity grading, metal purity, condition report, photographs, cleaning of item if able and digital copy if requested.

Rates:

  • First Piece: $175*
  • Additional Pieces: $115 each
  • Taylor Hall Jewelry Appraisal Update: $90 per item
  • Estate Consultation: $100/hour

*Exceptional pieces may have higher rates and will be estimated at time of inspection

Fair Market Appraisals - Usually when an estate is going through probate process, a Fair Market Valuation is requested by the court. Please call me to discuss FMV appraisals as each individual estate can differ in needs and price.

Appraisal report based on type of appraisal requested, weights and measures, diamond color/clarity grading, colored gemstone identification, metal purity, condition report, photographs, and cleaning of item if able.

We rent space from Calvin's Fine Jewelry to perform our in-person, independent jewelry appraisal appointments. Calvin's is locally owned and has served families in the Austin area for 25 years. They are located at 3818 Far West Blvd., Ste. 102, Austin, TX.

Please note that I do not offer appraisal services for pieces of jewelry that Taylor Hall Jewelry has previously sold. This would present a conflict of interest - you always want the appraisal performed by an independent appraiser, not the person who sold it to you.
